MEDITATION TO RELEASE TENSION .
This simple yet power meditation helps us to reconnect with ourselves and release our daily stress and tension.
To do the Meditation, sit in an Easy Pose, cross legged position. Keep the spine straight and chest slightly lifted. Relax the arms down at the sides. Raise the hands in front of the centre of the chest at the level of the heart. The palms face toward each other. Curl the fingers into a loose fist. Keep the thumbs extended and point them upwards. Bring the hands toward each other until the top segment of the thumbs touch along the side of the thumbs. The rest of the hands stay separated. Focus your eyes on the knuckles of the thumbs.
Bring your concentration to the breath. Create a steady breath rhythm inhaling to the count of eight. Next hold the breath to the count of eight. Then slowly exhale to the count of eight, hold the breath out to the count of eight and repeat.
Begin practicing this meditation for three minutes and gradually increase to thirty-one minutes. With regular practice, you may find that you are more able to overcome negative patterns of thought, attachments and behaviour, ultimately releasing tension from your mind and body.
